Journey Ideas

I love Journey so much...I imagine the possibilities of Characters in this world! ^_^ If we assume the original Journey Character to be the Basic Citizen of their Society, then here is how I imagine a Ranged Unit (like an archer or something). I imagine they would choose speed over controlled flight, so holding the 'Fly' button would charge up their 'Flight' and when released they would preform a burst of flight...each tap would do smaller bursts, power usage would be based on length of time holding the button and be displayed as the scarf glyphs glowing in relation to power usage...so they can cover ground faster, but more in straight lines with more difficulty in handling (gliding would be pretty much the same, but perhaps they fall slightly faster?). The main mechanical difference from the original Journey Character: When they Ping the small scraps of fabric (those flocks) the scraps flow into their sleeves and stay with them as ammunition (along with the flocks original usage of recharging the scarf). A new button assigned to 'Shoot', hold the button for longer range, larger ping, and more damage to enemies...power usage depends on time holding the button. If the scrap hits no target then it returns to your sleeves; if it hits a target the scrap pings the area and damages foes, then wanders aimlessly away from the target (and joins other flocks if nearby). These Ammo-scraps will also recharge your Scarf Power if it ever becomes empty, but only 1 scrap will do the charging and then wander away (So as long as you have ammo-scraps you will have at least 1 glyph of power...and basically, you may sacrifice all your ammo to keep flying.)
I made this Ranged Unit Blue/Silver, to make it stand out from the Ammo-Scraps which will make it easier for the player to know how much ammo they have.
This shouldn't alter the idea of the game too much, could still be mainly a puzzle game, but now with a new ranged attack element factored in...and then perhaps introduce some miniature, human-sized versions of those Flying Serpent Machines that are out to consume the fabrics, that would make for some fun ranged-combat puzzles, like in Oddworld: A Stranger's Wrath. Anyway, here's the quick doodle, what do you think?:

Therianthropes

Therianthrope ("beast-man") exploratory concepts for the Creature Design Class I am taking at the Concept Design Academy; assignment: "Redesign 'The American Werewolf in London'". I was going with a more archaeological idea, like jurassic park-type scientists made a virus that accidentally made were-creatures. 1: Ancient Boar-like Predator; 2: Ancient Croc; 3: Tasmanian Tiger; 4: Misc; 5: Archaeopteryx.
Critiques welcome.
